Feng Shui, pronounced "fung shway", is the ancient Chinese art of improving every aspect of your life by enhancing your
environment according to the principles of harmony and energy flow. Feng Shui is neither superstitious magic, nor a passing
fad. The Chinese have known for millennia that our physical surroundings affect every aspect of our inner and outer lives.
Feng Shui examines how the energy flow in your living and working environment is affected by the placements of things and
objects within it, and how these obects interact with and influence your personal energy flow. Your personal energy flow
affects how you think and act, which in turn affects how well you perform and succeed in your personal and professional life.

Everyone loves color! Color does more than add wonderful aesthetics to an area. Feng Shui encourages the use of color
to enhance your life energy. The energies of specific colors create different types of effects on each one of us. With Feng
Shui, you can use colors to change your life circumstances in specific ways. The first diagram shows you how to apply color
to magnify the energy of each life area. For example, the Caesar desk design finished in yellow (birds eye maple) and red
(Italian "Carmine") placed in the center to back center of a room will enhance your health and fame while specifically
improving reputation, physical and mental health. The Caesar desk desing finished in "Verde" green with matching leather top
placed center left in your room will enhance family and specifically improve unity and bonding. The second diagram shows the
Feng Shui octagon placed over a typical room which can then be used to determine placement and color of your desk to enhance
the specific life areas.

In addition to color and placement, Feng Shui incorporates five elements, which are natural phases of energy (Wood, Fire,
Earth, Metal, and Water), as part of its examination. These five elements occur in every environment. Feng Shui gives you
the opportunity to take advantage of their powers. To learn more, explore the individual element links below:
Wood
Wood helps you to reach higher, grow into new areas in life, put down solid roots, and break through obstacles. To
increase the growth , expansion, and upward movement of your career, place wood in the center to the left side of the
space. In addition to its natural element, wood is considered to be any rectangular or columnar object or piece of art
containing the colors green and/or blue. The Caesar desk design finished in "Verde" with matching green leather top fits
this description perfectly.
Earth
Earth creates balance, peace, connection, and stability. Earth cures are good if you are expereincing changes and
transitions and need to feel solid and grounded. People and companies in rapidly moving industries ccan benefit by
applying earth cures. To invoke the increased presence of earth in your environment, you can accentuate your office
with yellow or earth-colored peices, or any square or cubed shaped objects. The caesar desk design finished in Birds-eye
maple (yellow) and Italian 'Carmine' applies perfectly. If possible, put the Earth objects or colors in the center of the
space, which is the natural location of the earth element.
Metal
Metal is the agent of communication, creativity, codes, and keys. Metal unlocks doors and conducts energies from one
place to another. If you need to make better connections with people or move more quickly and fluidly, choose the metal
element. The metal element is anything made of metal such as a chair or art object. The metal element is also an object
with a circular or spherical shape. The Titus desk design which employs metal with its design as well as the Monroe desk
design with its circular/spherical shape are excellent choices for the metal element.
When planning your office space, in order to put yourself in the best commanding position you should place your desk as
far from the door as possible. The desk position should allow you to see as much of the room as possible. You should
see the door from your desk position. Seeing who or what is approaching is a fundamental element of power and success at
work. For the most power and flexibility, you should be able to approach and leave your desk from either side. The
designs offered by GBRoberts have been developed as Functional Art, promoting this movement around them.
